LIT Ships Solar Panels in First Step Toward Unlocking Silver
Livium is pleased to announce the progress of Phase 1 in our collaboration with Won Kwang S&T, as we have successfully shipped 600 end-of-life solar panels to South Korea for recycling. This marks an important step towards unlocking critical materials such as silver, silicon, and silica. The potential economic opportunity of silver recovery from solar panel recycling in Australia is significant, with a current gross annual value of A$110 million, projected to grow to A$165 million by 2030.
We are also encouraged about the Federal Government's commitment to a national solar panel recycling pilot, signaling support for a regulatory framework in this area. Our collaboration with Won Kwang S&T aims to establish a joint venture for an Australian PV recycling plant using their technology. Additionally, we are working with IonDrive on downstream silver extraction using IONSolv™ technology.
We see silver recovery as a key economic driver, given the growing demand for photovoltaics and strengthening silver prices. Our CEO recently visited Won Kwang S&T's facility to further advance our partnership. Livium looks forward to updating our investors as we progress through this exciting collaboration.
